A program wins a Sweet 16 with players. A program stays good for a decade with rosters. The schools that have multiple young kids coming up at the same time are the ones that can make runs at Rupp year after year.
Right now there are a handful of Kentucky programs that fit that description. St. Xavier just showed what they're about in the 2026 tournament, and they have the kind of young foundation that suggests this wasn't a one-year thing. Lexington Catholic continues to produce. George Rogers Clark just won a title and has reason to believe they're not done. Great Crossing made the field and is a program on the rise. Christian Academy Louisville has been a name for a while and isn't going anywhere. Taylor County, North Laurel, Trinity, Montgomery County, Corbin, McCracken County, Ballard, South Oldham, Louisville Eastern, Russell, East Jessamine, Lexington Christian, Beechwood. All of them have reasons to feel good about what's coming.
