What the community is talking about right now

Peach Jam by the numbers, who is playing modern and who is old school

Team stats are out and the spread in styles is real. Team Melo jacked 28.6 threes a game and Indy Heat 28.0, both living beyond the arc. Team Durant shot 14.2 a game and just ground it out inside. Florida Rebels won it all shooting a middle of the road 17.8. Does three point volume actually win at this level or is it still about getting stops and buckets in the paint?

Peach Jam is done, what did we actually learn this summer?

Circuit wrapped and I am still chewing on it. Feels like the gap between the top EYBL teams and everybody else got wider, not smaller. Curious what stood out to people who were in the gym all summer and not just watching clips.

Reclassing in middle school, does holding a kid back actually help?

Seeing more and more families reclass in 7th or 8th grade so the kid is old for his grade. On paper it makes sense, extra year of development, bigger and stronger than peers. But I have also watched it backfire when the kid was never actually behind, he was just young. Where do you all land on it?

8

Way too early 2026-27 top 25, who is your preseason number one?

It is never too early. Give me your preseason number one for next season and one team nobody is talking about that finishes top 15. Drop your pick and defend it.

6

Which 2026 freshman makes the biggest day one impact?

Class of 2026 is on campus. Not asking who is the best long term, asking who steps in and produces as a true freshman this season. Tyran Stokes at Kansas is the obvious answer but the obvious answer is not always right. Caleb Holt at Arizona, Cameron Williams at Duke, Jordan Smith Jr at Arkansas all walk into real minutes. Who eats first?

8

Do you rank a class on what they did in high school or what they will become?

This is the argument I have every year. Half of ranking a kid is projecting a body and a role two or three years out, which is basically guessing. The other half is what he actually did on the floor against real competition. Those two things pull in different directions all the time. Where should the weight sit?

Has NIL been good or bad for the sport, honest takes only

Trying to move past the knee jerk takes. On one hand kids finally get paid off a system that made everyone else rich. On the other the sport feels like free agency every April and roster continuity is dead. Both can be true. Where do you actually land when you weigh it out?

New here, drop an intro

Board is just getting going so figured someone should start the intro thread. Who are you, where do you watch your hoops, and what is the one basketball opinion you will die on. I will go first. Aaron, mostly a lurker, and I think the midrange is underrated and always will be.

Warmup song that instantly gets you locked in

Nothing basketball IQ about this thread, just need to know what is coming through the gym speakers before you play. Wrong answers welcome. Right answers preferred.

Best guard at Peach Jam this year, settle it

Cayden Daughtry put up 32.3 a game and had the Florida Rebels running the whole thing. But Beckham Black at 24.2, AJ Williams at 23 and 8 boards, and Jahari Miller at 21.4 all have a case depending on what you value. Who was the best guard in the field, not just the biggest scorer. Make your pick.

7

Florida Rebels finished 7-1 and took the whole thing, most impressive run of the tournament?

Rebels went 7-1 on the event, led the field averaging 85.4 points a game on 48 percent shooting with a plus 10.4 differential. Topped Pool A at plus 45, then beat CP3 by 3, ran past Team Herro by 8 in the semis, and closed Drive Nation 71 to 60 in the final. Is that the most impressive run, or does someone else have a better one when you factor in the path?

6

Do you trust rankings more after summer evaluation or during the season?

247Sports built this 2027 update off the July recruiting period and five weeks of summer scouting across sneaker and independent circuits. That is a lot of live evaluation, but it is a different environment than the high school season. Do you trust rankings more when they reflect summer grassroots evaluation, or when they reflect the high school season? Should July carry the weight it does?

EYBL season MVP, who actually gets your vote?

Full season numbers are in. Cayden Daughtry led the entire EYBL at 28.0 a game over 22 games on 56 percent shooting with 6 assists. That is the scoring title and the volume and the efficiency all in one. But MVP is not just scoring. Beckham Black carried AB Elite at 21.7 with 5.4 assists, DeMarcus Henry went for 19.3 and 9.2 both ends. Who is your season MVP and why.

6

Best shooter in the EYBL this season?

Not most points, best shooter. Kager Knueppel shot 47.4 from three for Team Herro. Davion Thompson hit 42.1 on real volume. Beckham Black put up 35 percent on a ton of attempts. Troy Fason and Jahari Miller both over 41. Who is the guy you least want to leave open.

5

Most underrated scorer nobody is talking about

Everyone knows the top of the leaderboard. I want the guys putting up 12 to 16 a game efficiently that are flying under the radar. Xavier Skipworth at 16 on 45 and 37 from three for Team Takeover. Trevor Dickson quietly at 13.8 on 42. Who is the scorer you think is being slept on.

The 2027 rankings just got a major reset. Who should be No. 1?

247Sports dropped a new 2027 Top 150 after the July recruiting period and five weeks of summer scouting. AJ Williams reclassified into the class and landed in the top five. More than 10 previously ranked prospects reclassified upward. The board looks different than it did in the spring. Forget the list for a second. If you were building the No. 1 case from scratch, what carries the most weight for you: projection, production, upside, or something else entirely? Who is your No. 1, and what is the case?

AJ Williams moving from 2028 to 2027 changes the entire class

One reclassification just reshuffled the top of 2027. AJ Williams moved up a class and into the top five, per 247Sports. That is not a small thing. A single player landing at the top changes matchups, depth charts, and how everyone below gets evaluated. How much should one major reclassification move the needle on a whole class? Does it make 2027 stronger, or just more top-heavy? Drop your take below.

Are rankings supposed to measure who is best RIGHT NOW?

This comes up every update and it is worth settling. 247Sports says its model is projection-first: NBA draft upside, then projected college impact, then career-to-date performance. That means the rankings are not trying to crown the best current high school player. Is that the right call? Should rankings tell us who is best today, or who becomes best tomorrow? What do you actually want a ranking to mean?

Biggest riser candidates for the next 2027 update

247Sports called out 15 biggest movers after July, and the class is still fluid with more reclassifications expected. The next update will move names again. Who do you think has the biggest case to jump in the next 2027 rankings? Not who is already at the top. Who is sitting just below and is about to break through? Name your riser and the reason.

Does reclassification make recruiting rankings harder to evaluate?

More than 10 prospects reclassified upward in this 2027 cycle, and three former top-10 players are now college freshmen and out of the high school pool entirely. The class you evaluated in the spring is not the class you are looking at now. Does all this movement make rankings more honest because they adapt, or harder to trust because the target keeps moving? How do you account for reclassifications when you read a board?

NBA upside vs college impact: which should matter more?

247Sports weights NBA draft upside first, then projected college impact. That ordering is the whole debate in one sentence. Some fans care about who helps a college program win in March. Others care about who has the highest long-term ceiling. Where do you fall? Should a player rank higher for projected college production, or for NBA upside that might take years to show up?

Who is the most underrated 2027 prospect right now?

Every class has a player the rankings seem to sleep on. With a fresh 2027 Top 150 out, now is the time to make the case. Name one 2027 prospect you think is underrated right now, and give the evidence. What are they doing that the board is missing?
